When I began working in 1997 as
Production Planner, I didn’t know
about APICS. The Department
Head suggested that membership
in APICS would be good towards
my Professional Development.
Guess what?  He was extremely
right.  Through the journey to
become a professional, you need
passion and desire to continuously
improve. APICS gave me this.
I began my CPIM Certification in 2000 and finished it in 2001. From then on it has been a great experience.
The knowledge acquired through the certification helped me to better understand the business as a whole, not
just as the part I was working in. I began teaching CPIM courses and with this, I convinced myself this is just not
another association; it is the association that everyone latest in Operations Management should be a part of.
To me, teaching other professionals to understand the APICS Body of Knowledge is helping them to develop
their     abilities    and    also helping the industry in Puerto Rico to be more productive.

After teaching CPIM and CPM courses for a year and a half, I was invited to be part of the BOD of Puerto Rico
Chapter. There, I met a group of professionals from different generations that are behind all the activities we
enjoy in our Island to support our professional development.

The journey for knowledge never ends. We at the APICS Puerto Rico Chapter want you to know that you can
count on us to bring you the latest in the Operations Management through APICS Body of Knowledge.
